| Kay Cordell Whitaker is the author of
the now classic The Reluctant Shaman which has been translated into
many languages. She has been written about and referenced in
many books, publications and bibliographies internationally and
appears monthly, live on KBAC FM.
She completed a thirteen year apprenticeship with the two
Peruvian elders, Domano and Chea Hetaka, to become a storyteller
shaman of the Kala Keh Nah Seh tradition. She is now the oldest
living woman Kala Keh Nah Seh and leading authority in the western
world on the Hetakas’ tribal traditions.
For more than thirty years she has continued to research, practice
and teach these traditions across the U.S. and abroad. She has
performed their ancient healing arts on thousands around the world.
